Privacy at Younivercity

Location

• We only ask for location when you turn on nearby discovery.
• Coordinates are rounded to roughly 100 m before they're stored, kept in a private record only you can read, and replaced on each update — we don't keep a history.
• Other people only ever see a broad band (e.g. “1–3 km”). Discovery is rate-limited to prevent triangulation.
• Switching to Quiet or Invisible deletes your stored location immediately. Locations older than 30 minutes are ignored.
• We never sell location data.

Visibility modes

Visible — appear in nearby discovery. Quiet — browse and chat, but stay out of discovery. Invisible — hidden from discovery and no location updates. New accounts start Invisible.

Messages and voice notes

Only conversation members can read messages. Voice notes are stored privately and played back through short-lived links. Administrators do not browse private conversations.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your profile, interests, location, connections, messages you sent, voice notes, RSVPs and notifications. Reports you filed are kept without your identity so safety reviews can finish. Moderation records about an account may be retained where needed to prevent abuse.

Compliance

Before public launch, this policy will be reviewed against the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable regulations.
